While the story mode of Jurassic World Evolution was significant - totaling a whopping 24 hours - the campaign mode in Jurassic World Evolution 2 is a little shorter. This roughly five-hour-long glorified tutorial may seem insignificant at first - especially to fans of the original - but it's actually got a lot of great content waiting to be explored that makes it the perfect game for fans of dinosaurs.

Sure, it isn't particularly heavy on story details - most of these characters exist to explain mechanics to you - but that doesn't mean we didn't have a few questions lingering once we'd finished. From mysterious intentions to future dinos, these are the questions that continue to bug us even weeks after we finished it.

5/5 Will The Dinosaurs Remain Complacent?

Throughout a lot of the game's campaign, Dr. Ian Malcolm - played by the effortlessly brilliant Jeff Goldblum - contemplates for how long the dinosaurs roaming the earth will remain complacent. In fact, the final question of the game asks whether or not they'll retaliate in the very near future. It's an interesting question, especially as throughout a lot of the story mode you'll experience dinosaurs rather angrily destroying the very park intended to keep them contained.

Well, if the third movie in the Jurassic World franchise has anything to say about it, chances are they won't remain complacent for long. There's a very good chance that within the Jurassic World Evolution 2 universe, the dinosaurs will break free of these parks and roam the world untamed. It's a scary thought, especially as these things are so adept at tearing apart your employees and guests throughout the game. All we can do is hope these electrified fences are strong enough to keep them in a little longer.

4/5 Will The Department Of Fish And Wildlife Succeed?

Of course, on the other hand, it's possible that the Department of Fish and Wildlife - the game's central agency in charge of managing dinosaurs - will actually succeed. What if they do in fact keep the dinosaurs contained and prevent them from causing havoc in populated areas? Well, that would, at least for humans be a good thing. Perhaps then the real question is, should they succeed?

Even if the Department of Fish and Wildlife does manage to contain every dinosaur, what kind of life is that for the dinosaurs, and how long can the department keep it up? There are just too many questions left unanswered, and frankly, we can't help but continue to wonder. Either way, it seems like a terrifying prospect. The dinosaurs may continue to be locked up forever, or they take over the world and humans live in constant fear until they're made extinct.

3/5 What New Dinosaurs Will Appear In Jurassic World Evolution 3?

Something a little more pleasant to think about is just what dinosaurs will appear in the next installment? The original game had a lot of dinosaurs already, with 37 on launch and an additional 30 being added in DLC packs. Jurassic World Evolution 2 started with a staggering 88, which is certainly an impressively high number. It's obvious that there are so many, as you'll constantly be discovering a new breed of dinosaurs throughout the early hours of your experience.

However, we can't help but wonder what this means for a potential sequel. Of course, we want to be reasonable. We're not expecting 1,000 new dinosaurs to appear - although how cool would that be? In fact, we think they'll probably be a small increase. Perhaps we'll see a dozen or so more, especially considering that the current game could receive more dinosaurs in the future. Either way, it's almost certainly going to be one of the best dinosaur games ever made, regardless of how many new dinos eventually appear.

2/5 What Is Dr. Dua Up To?

Throughout the story, Dr. Kajal Dua, a central character who also appeared in the original game, acts rather suspiciously. Her intentions are never made particularly clear to you, as she always acts aloof and distant. In the first game, she's considered a bit of a mysterious character who will purposefully sabotage you if you fail to pay her and her division enough attention. Basically, not a great person.

In Jurassic World Evolution 2, Dr. Dua is working for the CIA, making her involvement with you and the dinosaurs even more difficult. Sure, in the story she doesn't purposefully sabotage your efforts, nor does she have any major input into most of the decisions you make. But her intentions are never quite clear, and she'll often say cryptic things to throw you off guard. So, what is she up to? What does the CIA really want, and what is her overall goal? We guess we'll have to wait until Jurassic World Evolution 3 to find out.

1/5 What Remains Of Cabot Finch?

Cabot Finch character

Easily one of the best characters from Jurassic World Evolution is the hilariously greedy Cabot Finch. Fortunately for fans of his antics, he makes a brief but memorable return in Jurassic World Evolution 2 with perhaps even fewer morals and even more dollar signs in his eyes. His inclusion in the narrative certainly enhances it and makes the game one of the best simulation games on Xbox Game Pass.

However, while he sticks around for a little while, he eventually disappears and doesn't return for the rest of the campaign. We're curious as to just what happened to him? We imagine he's relaxing on a beach somewhere, not concerning himself with the difficult act of containing and managing deadly dinosaurs. Hopefully, he's having a nice time and there is not a hungry lurking Mosasaurus nearby.
